Coastal® SKYBLUE® Diesel Exhaust Fluid is a mixture of 32.5% high purity synthetic urea and 67.5% deionized water that is used in Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems on diesel engines. DEF is used to help convert NOx to harmless nitrogen and water. It is stable, colorless, non-flammable and is classified as minimum risk for transportation.
Coastal® SKYBLUE® conforms to the ISO 22241 specification for DEF, is API registered and meets or exceeds OEM specifications.
COASTAL SKYBLUE® DEF is available in 2.5 gallon bottles for
your convenience to meet the needs of today’s diesel vehicles.

DEF is stored in a supplementary tank on the vehicle. The dosage, approximately 2 to 3% of fuel consumption, is calculated precisely by the vehicle’s electronic computer and injected into the exhaust system just before the SCR catalyst.
